New Board members of ISBR
At the last Board Meeting in Paris (June 22-23rd, 2009) two new members were nominated and approved: Dr Siva V. Reddy from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), India, and Dr Morven McLean from the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI),Canada and CERA.
Dr Siva V. Reddy
Since 1994, Dr Siva V. Reddy is Group Leader of the Plant Transformation Group, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, India. Main contribution to research is in the field of genetic engineering of cotton, rice, tomato, etc., to make these resistant to insect, fungal and viral pathogens.
Dr Morven McLean
Dr Morven McLean is Director of the ILSI Research Foundation Center for Environmental Risk Assessment located in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the ILSI Research Foundation she was President of AGBIOS, a consultancy dedicated to providing public policy, regulatory, and risk assessment expertise in agricultural and forest biotechnology. She also previously worked for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency where she headed the national regulatory program for the release of GM plants.
